Plans are being made for that week to be a BPCC Tour based in Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire and the dinner will follow a BP match during the day. Publication of the 2013 1st Class fixtures will determine the venue of the game, but at this time it is hoped that it can be played at Derbyshire CCC. Failing this there are some excellent local grounds that have previously hosted BPCC and will no doubt be delighted to once again host a BP fixture. Approximate costs to be £50/£55 for an A/I night (Free Bar on selected drinks) for a 4 course meal, guest speakers and raffle. BPCC have been approached by "C.O.P.S" (Care of Police Survivors) to host a Charity Match. Following discussions it has been agreed that any proceeds from the Dinner will be donated to COPS. With this in mind I have approached all Force Secretaries to become involved by requesting donations from their Cricket Sections for this worthy cause. If every person (who plays cricket for their Force) donates just £1 then we can all make a huge difference and go a long way to help rebuild a shattered life PLEASE HELP US TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY GENEROUSLY DONATING £1 "TO ALL THOSE CONNECTED WITH POLICE CRICKET"..... It cannot be emphasised enough the importance of keeping Police Cricket alive. It has one of the highest turnout of Police Staff participating in the National Knockout and BPCC. In these times of great uncertainty and constant increasing demands being placed on an ever decreasing Service, Cricket still provides an outlet for staff to participate in a competitive environment with fellow colleagues allowing them some hours away from the stresses and strains imposed on the them by their employers and management "TO ALL SECRETARIES"..... Without your hard work and dedication the National Competition would cease to exist. May I thank you for all the hard work you put in arranging fixtures / grounds / travel and cajoling staff to take time off to play. The Committee are behind you and will give you every support we can. We want to encourage more Cricket to be played and continue to be at the forefront of Police Sport. 2012 will be a difficult year with the policing of the Olympics and a reduction of leave being implemented but the Committee have expressed their intentions that a Competition will take place regardless Please continue to promote Cricket within your Force.
